Antanheen - Bhangchur ..

Antaheen..

I finally managed to watch the movie Antaheen. I had heard a lot about this movie , the fact that it was a very good movie .

To say , I loved the movie .. the way they have managed to show the relationships and how they have made it contemporary.

Though somehow, a police officer chatting from his office is a little bit of imagination but apart from that .. it was all quite nicely done.

It had a spirit of short stories, where the story ends but it really does not end. I was a bit suprised that a movie which settled for a such a uncanny love story where the heroine dies .. and the love remains ..

I donno , I think a hindi movie would have dramatized it enough for a rebirth or a last moment wake up from the bed to really bring a smile to audiences , but Antaheen does not do that.

But I enjoyed the romance that it showcased where you speak without speaking so much. Certain things are best left unsaid ? It showcased how a lot of people speak these days, I do speak with a lot of friends this way.

For some , its been years since I have last met them but still you interact and you speak. I think that is the power of this new media , the social networks that we say about. Suddenly, the world is such a smaller place to live in. I can see someone travelling to Korea and on the other hand just enjoying a lazy rainy afternoon.

After all , life is a game where you things are built and things are demolished. At a point , you win some and you lose some .

You remember somethings and you forget somethings .. please do remember me ..

Of Sundays. nothing-ness and more of nothing

Well .. well.. back into the sweating desert and we sure are sweating it out in 43 degree plus temperatures where the Air conditioner fails to cool you... and what does that mean ? You have a whole weekend of doing nothing and more of nothing ..

I think that becomes like the best weekend you can have here.. nothing  ..

Well, you do somethings like .. talking an occasional walk or to bother your brain about what should we have lunch and dinner ..and a lot of nothing involved.. so too much of wellness involved..

Here is a top 5 list which bothers your nothing-ness  weekend :
  1. Ordering food.. piling through countless number of handbills to find the perfect restaurant .. and most of the times you end up ordering from the same place you ordered last time
  2. Delivery boys .. you order food or water or any other thing .. the promise is to deliver as soon as possible .. and when you are calling after 2 hours after the order .. the reply .. "raste pe hai .. 10 min pe pauch jayega"
  3. Taking a bath .. Well for a lot people taking a bath on the weekend is similar to climbing the mount Everest ( yes, even in such hot temperatures )
  4. Answering your mom's telephone calls - It seems that your mom/parents have given up with you .. when.ever in the day, the call comes a question remains have you woken up and then continues a never-ending truth about making changes to your life style and serving the humanity..
  5. Last but not the least .. dodging .."bhai" like creatures .. well .. in a such hostel like society there always is a person who is often regarded as "Bhai" and his sole ideology in life is have 'jugads' .. well what is a 'jugad' ..it is indeed an art of living on someone else's resources and saving on potential cost/efforts. You never know when the attack will come but it can as low as something as a bottle of water to ..a packet of maggi to a full scale dinner + drinks ..
More on bhai ka jugad and then behen the dodging tactics .. may be later .. that is life in the jungle of silver oaks ..

Also the most hunted animal in this jungle is a person with a car .. once you have a car , a lot of people feel like late night drives and going to India gate or midnight buffets .. well once you hunt that person down .. so all the car owners.. fire up the road .. for we are looking to hunt some game. ( PS : We have one hunted down one now very rare dramatic species for this weekend )

I am watching "Dr Munshir Diary" ..one of Feluda ..tele movies..  we might go out for dinner later in the evening to a south Indian place .. not exactly a huge fan of south Indian .but still I don't mind ..

also we have a match of KKR .. and waiting for Fake IPL post after that .. lets how Lordie fairs today ..

Well.. thats all for now .. also planning to get a camera ..lets see how that goes ..

Gulaal - Colours of cinema

Saw a movie called "Gulaal" , through this afternoon.

It is about the politics in Rajput land. But it also shows the sadistic brilliance of a character , a character who changes through the course of the movie.

Movie which uses colors to shade the mood of the character. Its also the fact that he has used that in his previous movies "Dev D" and "Black Friday".

Black Friday shone in the dark room interrogations. Dev D was shining in the multi colored facets of Dev and Chanda.  I think over the movies , he also uses the retro light effect to a lot.

I think that's what makes the movies so realistic , so much out of the real life.

Gulaal showcases effective use of background music to tell the story. He does a 'Bandeh' with 'O Re Duniya'

I think 'O re Duniya' and some of the songs is thoughtful and contemporary. It is realist cinema at India's Rajputana heartland.

3-4 females characters also shape the movie. The end where the female protagonist is strumming a a guitar while somewhere someone is dying due her plots is very well  placed.

The thing about the movie is either you like it or u hate it. There is very little middle ground. Well for me, I would love to collect this movie and watch this in times end fag end of the night.

Also watched a movie called "Rachael getting married" starring Anna Hathway. She is brilliant and movie was also quite awesome. Shot in a handheld camera has a nice effect to it. But with a combination of everything it just sweeps you slowly into  your mind.

I think movie are also becoming as powerful as books to make people think but ya it restrains your imagination to some faces and some background. But well, we captives of technology will continue to dwell amongst both and think into past and future to combine both as a part of our lives.

Otherwise, all well , will be leaving this place in a couple of weeks. At least I am made to think so.

Well.. well.. well.. like a lot of other sunday's in life.. i sit staring into a laptop while it rains outside.  Reflecting on the weekend of mixed propotions ..

A running stomach. delhi 6. white tiger, medicines, muffins, vegeatable and chicken stew and also a a whole lot of television including "Devild wear the prada" ..

a mixed variety really .. and this may be in all probablity the last weekend in Jo'burg for me.

I really found "White tiger" very intriguing . The way it bring together the whole cliche's of indian society. I think SDM also bring together a lot of the cliche's of Indian life and everyday things that we see but a lot of the times refuse to see again..

Delhi 6 was a mixed movie ..it did not give me a clear message to live with ...or go out with.. though I had to run to public toilet to help my stomach ..

Tomorrow morning, I again take the journey towards the old famed building called "Carlton Centre" . The tallest building in Africa. It's like a consuming giant..  and yes .. it has some crazy lifts which blocks off your ears. I will resume my preparation for training few people .. and resume the daily journey towards life.

I currently watching "Jay Leno Show", I somehow think Oye  its friday .. is modelled on it.    Anyway .. so much for now..
